Albino Serpagli, Executive Director
"Traditional Italian food has always been an important part of my life. To me, it symbolizes family, comfort and festivity. As a result, my ultimate goal was to be a party of a "restaurant family" and at The Palm we are all family- staff and guests alike."

Albino is a native of the Emilia Romagrian area of Italy in the province of Parma from where The Palm draws its name. He immigrated with his family to New York's Upper East Side at the age of four. By the age of 10, he was working his way up the restaurant industry as a dishwasher after school and on weekends. In 1975, a good friend who worked as a server at Palm Too asked Albino if he would like to be a bus boy at The Palm. Without hesitation Albino jumped at the chance. He reflects that from the minute he began at The Palm he noticed the language of the staff, the food and its preparation was just like home and this was definitely the place for him.

In 1979, Albino was promoted to bartender and was granted a whole new perspective on the industry. This job gave him the chance to "get up close and personal" with the guests and learn their likes and dislikes. In 1982, he was promoted to the Manager position at the original Palm and found out how much work running a restaurant really is.

As The Palm passed its milestone of 80 years of business, Albino past a personal milestone of over 30 years with The Palm. Now in his position of General Manager, Albino is running the show that is Palm One and says "There are always new challenges and I have always felt supported and encouraged in my position. I am grateful to both Bruce and Wally for giving me this opportunity to realize my dream."
