London Wine Dinner Series

Marc Whitley, General Manager of The Palm Restaurant, announces a series of wine tasting dinners at The Palm in London. Each event will be held in The Palm’s exclusive private dining room; Marc has worked closely with local London wine merchants, wine makers and vineyard owners, to provide a tutored evening of great food and wine.

Each wine dinner will feature signature dishes from The Palm’s 85 year history, both from the current menus and from the company’s long-standing repertoire.

The menus are also being devised to fully complement the wines, and each evening will be packed with insight, facts and figures about the world of food and wine.

Each of the wine dinners is individually priced to include a welcome canapé and drinks reception, followed by a four course dinner with wines. To make the evening informal and fun, all of the guests will be seated at one large table. Space is limited to 30 guests, so early booking is encouraged.

Friday May 25th 2012 Frogs Leap £100
Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams and Larry Turley in 1981. Started on a shoestring budget, even the name itself was ‘borrowed’ by combining “Stag’s Leap,” where John started his Napa Valley winemaking career, and “Frog Farm,” which was Larry’s home and where the early vintages were made. In 1994 John became sole owner of Frog’s Leap and moved the winery the heart of the Rutherford AVA where, today, it farms over 200 acres of organic, estate grown vineyards.”

Friday June 29th 2012 Rudd £100
Established in 1996, Lesley Rudd purchased 55 acres in Oakville, Napa Valley, after being hugely impressed after a visit to the legendary Haut-Brion in Bordeaux during the mid 1960’s. Producing Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, Lesley relentlessly pursues all possible avenues that might lead to an improved wine drinking experience.

Friday July 27th 2012 Grand Finale. £120
For this evening we will select what we believe to be the best dishes and wines from the series. This special menu will compromise one dish and one wine from each of the evenings, promising a unique and memorable event. Price: £120 per person. Dress Code for this evening only: Black Tie.

Each evening starts at 7:15pm for drinks and canapés in our Private Dining Room, followed by dinner at 8:00pm.
