Willy Cellucci, General Manager
As a young man growing up in Los Angeles - and for a brief period of time in Connecticut- there was little indication of Willy Cellucci's natural proclivity for smoky saloons, loud rock-and-roll music, women and whiskey. The fact is these traits, which were to mold his future career, were not entirely evident until he won the pinball tournament of Paris in 1973. His winnings did not quite cover his bar tab for the four days of play; therefore he was indentured to work off his debt in a cafe, his first restaurant job. Cellucci graduated from George Washington University with a degree in English and lettered on the baseball team - a remarkable feat considering no one but Cellucci and the coach could tell the difference between his fastball and his change-up. Like many washed-up athletes with English degrees, Cellucci turned to the bright lights of the restaurant industry. He has run restaurants in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Boston, New York and St. Thomas, V.I., among others. He achieved his lifetime goal when he came to work at The Palm. Despite his advanced years and increasing girth, he still can be found in The Atlanta Palm, extolling the virtues of the Democratic Party and the Chicago Cubs ad nauseam. Cellucci lives in the Atlanta area with his wife and two sons.
